ROMANS 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Leadership Insight : Think Differently – Lead Differently

PART 1

As Leaders in today’s society and cultures, which are continually changing and transforming from the way they were and the way things were done in the days of the Baby Boomers and next the Gen X’ers, we must also realize that we need to lead people differently now than the way they did back then.  One of the highest concerns baby Boomers had on their list of job expectations was a good solid job that they could rely upon to be there till the end, the extra perks really didn’t mean as much to them 40 to 50 years ago.  With Gen. X’ers, one of their highest job expectations was for work-life balance, but a simple search on the internet today will show you that they are one of the most financially troubled generation.  Today’s younger generations, however, the Millenials and the Gen Z’s, are much different in that they, we, myself being a Millenial included, at large, want to own their place in the world today, some expecting it now, but they also want and desire continued growth and development.  Today’s younger generation wants to know they are part of something larger than themselves, they want to be entrusted with ownership over their role and part of the company that they work with and for.

INSPIRE CHANGE

Today is not yesterday and tomorrow is not yet today.

Purpose today to make tomorrow better than today.  What leaders need to do today, supervisors/managers/executives, is to challenge their younger team members.  Today’s younger workers need to be pushed and challenged to a higher level and degree of expertise and experience.  Whether that push is to become a system matter expert, into a horizontal shift or even a vertical shift, they need to be pushed, they need to be challenged.

Purpose Today to Make Tomorrow Better than Today!

As leaders in our homes, community, and place of work, we are endowed with the responsibility to inspire change, continuous learning, development, and improvement.  If you and I do not take on this responsibility that has been given to us, who do you think
will be the next person in line to take over for us?

Think about your Family.  If you are incapable of leading them, what will the future hold for them?  Will someone else be there to step in and take the reigns of leadership?

Think about your Community.  If you are incapable of leading them, what will the future hold for the ?  Will someone else be there to step in and take the reigns of leadership?

Think about your Work Team.  If you are incapable of leading them, what will the future hold for the ?  Will someone else be there to step in and take the reigns of leadership?

And put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth
