“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Jesus; Matthew 28:19-20

Leadership Insights From Romans 12

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

Leadership Insight : Self-Sacrifice

PART 1

One of the Key Ingredients to successful [Servant] Leadership, Leading Like Jesus, is to lay down your life – to surrender your needs and wants – at the feet of Jesus, at the Throne of God the Father, Almighty (Mark 8:34). If we can first surrender ourselves to God, then He will do the rest. The Bible says that through God we can do all things, in that those things line up with His general and specific will for us individually. Before God can use us though, we must allow Him admittance into our lives by laying down our life, and in return, He will then do the rest.

Surrender – to Give up control of our lives to ultimately gain full control of our lives through God, our Creator. Jesus once told His disciples and other followers that He came to save and serve the lost (Mark 2:17), those who have no vision or direction in life. He sacrificed everything for nothing, Divinity for Humanity, for those who had nothing, and still today, who have nothing.
What are you doing purposefully that reflects true surrender of your life to God, our true Leader and life Coach?

Ask yourself the following set of questions:

Am I putting God first before all other things; Is God my # 1?

Is my marriage my #2 (for those of us who are married)?

Is my family my #3 (for those of us who are parents)?

Are my friends my #4?

Is my business my #5?

So You want to be a Servant Leader and lead people the way Jesus did. The FIRST thing you need to discover in yourself is the Holy Spirit of God. SECOND, you need to discover the gifts and talents that God created in you and ask the Holy Spirit to help you cultivate and develop those gifts and talents. Only after this process will you begin to discover the areas of life where your leadership and influence are greatest.

You must first ask yourself:

Is the Holy Spirit at work in my life?

Next, ask yourself:

What are my gifts and talents – the things that I am greatest at, that I accel at that comes naturally to me that no one had to teach me to do?
What are the things that I do that people say that I am great at?

SO, have you surrendered yet? Have you made the hard decision and choice to sacrifice and lay down your own wants, desires, and needs for the benefit of your family, community, and team at work? The day that you do will change everything for the better. Trusting God over yourself and others will allow Him to work far more blessings and miracles into your life.

Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called.
