Matthew 6:10
It is not as though we actually live apart from God because everything exists within Him. It is that we must allow God to change the ways in which we see and think of Him; we must allow God to give us new perspectives of His nature and character. We must allow, and invite, God to transform and renew our mind (Romans 12:2). We must ask, and invite Him into our lives, to perform open-heart, and open-mind, surgery, so to say, so that He may plant within us the Seed of His Word, the Holy Spirit. Once we allow this to happen in us, we will realize that we are living in a foreign land. As Jesus once said, “Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand ((“The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel”, (Mark 1:15; Matthew 4:17).
The Kingdom of God is upon us, it is all around us, closing in on all sides. We must know and believe this and acknowledge His kingdom, and that we are purposed for it, to spread it and build it, one soul at a time. We must live now for the kingdom of God; it is our future; our eternal refuge is Heaven Bound!
Look to Revelation 21 and 22 with me now for a minute in which John the Apostle explains his vision of the new Heaven and Earth and the new Jerusalem. It is all going to be made new again as never before. It is all going to be made brand new, everything, in its entirety, not simply rebuilt, but made new again. Read Revelation 21 and 22 right now to gain a fuller view of the expectation of the coming Heaven and Earth. God is calling us right now with this expectation, and mind set, that as His beloved we will once and for all eternity live in this new world with Him.
Did you see that? “And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”” (Revelation 21:5). Did you also notice how massively huge the new Jerusalem is going to be? But at the same time, did you see what it will be like for all of those who do not believe in God?
What are you living for right now, today, this very moment?
Are you living in such a way that God has given you the confidence to know that you have an eternal hope, home, and inheritance awaiting your arrival? 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 talks about the future home we have with God and the current tents that we are living in and operating from. Paul reminds us that God Himself has personally made this Heavenly home for us. We must patiently pursue God and the Kingdom of Heaven now on earth as it is in Heaven.
Prayer
Father God, I thank you that Your kingdom is coming and already is here at hand. I thank you that Your Son, Jesus, has come before us to make a way for all mankind to enter into Your kingdom and Your presence. Abba, help me to live and to be found righteous in Your sight so that I will hear the words “well done good and faithful servant” on that final day of judgment. Amen!
What does Revelation 20:5-8 say about those who believe and those who do not believe in God?
What does Mark 1:15 and Matthew 4:17 say about the way we should be living our lives right now?
What hope does 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 give you for the future?
