“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Jesus; Matthew 28:19-20

31 Days of Proverbs Moment

“Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.”
‭‭

King Solomon; Proverbs‬ ‭27‬:‭1‬ ‭NASB

So, for those of us who think that we can plan out the next five years of life, set it down in stone, and everything will just fall perfectly into place, I have something to tell us all – it doesn’t work!

I’ve been there, you’ve been there, and if we are all honest with ourselves, we know that it doesn’t work out perfectly. For those of us who rely on God for our plans and provisions, we know that He wants us to creat plans so that we can employ the gifts and talents that He has hardwired into each and every one of us. We must realize as well, all of us, myself included, that Gos is ultimately in control of all things. Even if I make plans for the next season of life, and fairly laid out and detailed plans for the next year, that He can change them at any point in time along the way. God likes to use road blocks and detours as divine interventions to allow us the moment to display His glory in the lives of other people.

Just a few days ago in Madison, Fl., we saw a car on the side of the road not moving. We drive a large truck, have a lot of equipment that we carry around with us on a regular basis. We could have decided to keep driving and keep to our planned schedule. However, we didn’t. We pulled over to see what the situation was, and it was as simple as putting a gallon of gas in their car so they could get to the gas station and fill up their tank. These people had simply ran out of gas. We were able in that moment to show God’s Glory and love to these people through a simple act of love and generosity. Think of the lasting impact that this could make on these people.

We did not plan this into our daily plan ahead of time, however, we do ask God all the time that He would use us to bless other people and that through these divine interventions that they would see God’s love. This ties perfectly into the Great Commission where we are employed by God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit to go into all the world and preach the gospel, not only in word, but also through our actions of love and generosity. This is where we become God’s hands and feet!

Do not become so blinded by your plans for tomorrow and the future that you miss the opportunities that lie right in front of you today.
